New Endeavors: Etsy and Camp NaNoWriMo

I’ve been busy lately trying to get all kinds of things sorted on the Sweet, Sweet Business and it has put some of the other things I’ve been trying to finish on the back burner. But not anymore. On Sunday, I started the process of opening up my own Etsy supply shop in order to raise funds to start my actual business. I’m going to be selling off the odds and ends that I’ve bought over the years (and never used) as well as some of the surplus baking stuff I’ve been buying lately. I think it will be good, so long as people shop with me. If you need baking or scrapbooking stuff, let me know. And of course there’ll be a link below and possibly a new page titled “Linky Links.”

The other endeavor that I’ve been trying to finish is my novel. I’ve had the idea since I was 18 and am FINALLY putting pen to paper (literally!) and writing it down. It’s a tedious process that I feel that I’m not doing right, but I guess there’s no real way to do it. I just hope that I can have some mild success with it and that the story is as good written as it is in my head. I’ve decided to do another NaNoWriMo event, Camp NaNoWriMo. I attempted to do it in November, but alas, the blues hit me hard and I didn’t bounce back until January. So here’s hoping I can finish about half of the novel before camp is over. I’ve got about 13,000 words already and I’m shooting for 75,000. If you’re doing Camp NaNoWriMo, drop a line at my profile or something… if you can. My username is theMEESH.

Oh also! In the new page will be a link to the Facebook Page for my Sweet, Sweet Business, which is actually not called The Sweet, Sweet Business.

Where did you get the name Etsy. My grandfather’s name was Joe Etsy and he went by Etsy. I’ve rarely heard it in other contexts.

Etsy.com is a website (a bit like ebay) where one can sell handmade goods, vintage pieces, or supplies that people use to make handmade goods. I have no idea how they got the name.
