Getting Things Rolling on The Sweet, Sweet Business

Probably not safe to keep it on there, but really, the house is falling apart anyway.

Probably not safe to keep it on there, but really, the house is falling apart anyway.

It all started a few weeks ago when I had a little money in my bank account. Birthday money. I ordered a handmade stamp on Etsy, figured out a name, and haven’t looked back since. I’m working on recipes and packaging ideas and figuring out how to get capital to start my small farmers’ market stand by the summer. But the one thing I really need help on, is business planning. AMAYSING

Today, while it started out kinda sad, has been a good day. I am currently in food coma status… trying to eke out this entry while feeling so deliciously full from Fettucine. I got the recipe from The Pioneer Woman who has got to be my blogging hero. I just added grilled chicken to it because MEAT. Continue reading

Banned from Baking: Purple Velvet EVERYTHING!

There's a reason why I don't want to go into the cupcake business...

There’s a reason why I don’t want to go into the cupcake business…

My beautiful car, Optimus Roo, needs new brakes. And NOW. But alas, like all things, I need to wait until the 15th. When I told Big Momma Bee about my tattoo, I started off with the worse news, which made the tattoo seem very unimportant. One of the items on that list of bad news was the cost of repairs on Optimus. I’m fairly certain a part of her flipped (though she’d never be able to do an actual flip). So after she calculated all the bills and whatnot yesterday, she called me from my room and said, in a very stern voice, “YOU CANNOT BAKE UNTIL WE GET THE CAR FIXED. IF YOU BAKE, WE WILL NOT BE ABLE TO AFFORD TO GET THE BRAKES.” I think that was the reason why I was so bummed yesterday. So what’s the first thing I planned to do once Big Momma Bee is gone for the week: bake!

All Good Things Come to an End?

Well, I woke up from my nap feeling rather low. I was going to blog about the carne asada fries I made for breakfast, but to be honest, I don’t really feel like it. I wasn’t actually going to blog at all, but I figured I should say something. It’s been a good month and I’m hoping that the happy stays. I guess we can only wait until tomorrow.

Can’t sleep? Make food! Salsa!!!!

20130203-030033.jpg

Well I guess that coffee I had did its job. I can’t sleep. I have no real idea why. I’m a bit anxious about life, but not depressed about it, which is always good. I was going to attempt to make pie crust, but decided against it because I have no freezer bags for it. I might pop by the dollar store and pick some up. Oh! I finished the Jason truffles by the way! I want to work on the whitewashed Jason, but I can’t decide on white chocolate or vanilla candy melts. After I finished the Jason truffles, I decided to make some salsa!! Continue reading

OOTD: Curly Girlie Night Out

I did my hair... and then my friend invited me to go watch a hockey game. It was like she knew I was bored and doing my hair. I didn't even have to facebook my boredom!

I did my hair… and then my friend invited me to go watch a hockey game. It was like she knew I was bored and doing my hair. I didn’t even have to facebook my boredom!

I hadn’t planned on going out tonight. I was going to just play around with my curling iron, lament at the fact that my room is in shambles and I don’t want to clean it because staph (really, that’s just me being lazy), and swoon over North and South for the thousandth time. Luckily, just as I was done curling my hair, my friend Hockey Girl asked if I wanted to go to a local bar to watch the Kings game.

I wouldn’t consider myself a diehard fan, to be honest, I’m not really a diehard fan of any American sport. Give me La Liga Futbol over the NFL any day. But I love LA and I’ll root for our teams when I can. Plus watching hockey is hilarious because of all the fighting. That must be my inner Manny Pacquiao talking.

Clamshell? But I Don’t Like Seafood…

The First Thing I've bought from Microsoft since buying Office.

The First Thing I’ve bought from Microsoft since buying Office. Please excuse my hot mess in the background.

It had been decided quite some time ago, that Big Momma Bee and I were going to save up for a new MacBook Pro. Alas, with Evil Kitchen being Evil and Optimus Roo needing so much maintenance done, it simply isn’t an option. Besides, I love my little old MacBook Pro. We’ve been through so much together. I consider all of its dents… happy dents.

You know it’s gonna be a real good day when the person in front of you pays for your Starbucks

20130202-110421.jpg

I woke up this morning thinking that Richard Armitage would be the perfect guy to play the love interest at the end of my novel, should I ever finish it/publish it/it becomes a bestseller and becomes a movie. So I got inspired to write again.

Tuna Cakes: Dad’s Face Makes Me Want to Give Up on This Whole Cooking Thing

With Leftover Fried Rice

With Leftover Fried Rice

I’m telling you, Dad’s face is making me really mad. He says “it’s good,” but his face is saying, “OH DEAR GOD WHY CAN’T YOUR MOM JUST BE HERE TO COOK FOR ME?!” I’m so mad at him, calling him by cutesy nicknames like “papa bear” and “Daddy Bee” are on hold until I cool off. I don’t mind if he hates it, to be honest, I just wish he’d say it rather than look like he’s lying while eating it.
