A Boring Blog Entry featuring Broccoli

Photo Mar 19, 6 47 01 PMThe best days are definitely the days when you wake up feeling down and you still accomplish all the things you’re supposed to do. As you know, I’ve been feeling pretty bad these past few days and I was planning on cancelling both my appointments today, but instead, I decided to put on my big girl panties, suck it up, and go to both. Not only did I get all my things done, I also made sinigang!  Continue reading

A Very MEESHY St. Patrick’s Day: Not-Corned Beef and Kim Chi Cabbage and actual Irish Goodies

I have a fancy whiskey glass somewhere... I just don't know where it is.

I have a fancy whiskey glass somewhere… I just don’t know where it is.

It’s a blue Monday here at MEESHYland, well it was a bit of a blue evening last night as well. That’s why this entry is a day later than I wanted, though you wouldn’t have known that if I didn’t say a damn thing. I’m enjoying the last bit of my homage to Ireland with a bit of Jameson, which isn’t so bad.  Continue reading

“Craft it, Sam. Craft for ‘Craftsablanca’ “

I told the guy to break my $5 so that I could help him avenge his brother

I told the guy to break my $5 so that I could help him avenge his brother

I’m such a terrible event blogger, I forgot to get all the names of all the booths that were at Craftsablanca presented by A Little Known Craft at the F+ Gallery in Santa Ana, ONE BILLION MILES AWAY FROM MEESHYLAND T_T. It was a super fun event where very talented people sold their wares. I traveled what seemed like the entirety of Los Angeles County to support Ahtee and see what I could buy with the wee amount of moolah I had. Alas, the bulk of my money went to food, as usual, and then I couldn’t decide on what I wanted. The event was totally awesome (like oh my God!) and I really enjoyed myself. Continue reading

Week in Review: March 3-8

Last week was one of those weeks… you know, the one where it feels like you did a lot, but you can’t REALLY remember what it was you did? Or am I the only one that happens to? Anyways, here’s what went down. Continue reading

New Endeavors: Etsy and Camp NaNoWriMo

I’ve been busy lately trying to get all kinds of things sorted on the Sweet, Sweet Business and it has put some of the other things I’ve been trying to finish on the back burner. But not anymore. On Sunday, I started the process of opening up my own Etsy supply shop in order to raise funds to start my actual business. I’m going to be selling off the odds and ends that I’ve bought over the years (and never used) as well as some of the surplus baking stuff I’ve been buying lately. I think it will be good, so long as people shop with me. If you need baking or scrapbooking stuff, let me know. And of course there’ll be a link below and possibly a new page titled “Linky Links.”

The other endeavor that I’ve been trying to finish is my novel. I’ve had the idea since I was 18 and am FINALLY putting pen to paper (literally!) and writing it down. It’s a tedious process that I feel that I’m not doing right, but I guess there’s no real way to do it. I just hope that I can have some mild success with it and that the story is as good written as it is in my head. I’ve decided to do another NaNoWriMo event, Camp NaNoWriMo. I attempted to do it in November, but alas, the blues hit me hard and I didn’t bounce back until January. So here’s hoping I can finish about half of the novel before camp is over. I’ve got about 13,000 words already and I’m shooting for 75,000. If you’re doing Camp NaNoWriMo, drop a line at my profile or something… if you can. My username is theMEESH.

Oh also! In the new page will be a link to the Facebook Page for my Sweet, Sweet Business, which is actually not called The Sweet, Sweet Business.

Adventures in MEESHYland: Swap Meet

Nesty Bowls

Nesty Bowls

It’s Big Momma Bee’s last day off and I thought it’d be nice to do something fun with her. We always go food shopping on one of her days off but I thought it’d be a great change of pace to do something she’s kinda banned from doing. We went to the swap meet! Continue reading

Easy Peasy Brekkie and The Cutest Chewbacca You’ve Ever Seen

Photo Mar 02, 7 14 50 AMOooh Lord, do my hands hurt! I’m telling you it’s carpal tunnel. What am I going to do about my blogging career if I do have this wretched sedentary lifestyle illness? How does one even let their hands heal for something like that? Boo hands… I don’t like you right now. Continue reading

My first slow cooked meal: brekkie

Oatmeal... on crack?

Oatmeal… on crack?

As you’re learning to cook, do you ever get that feeling that something in your house is going to blow up? I have that feeling right now. I just popped in my first meal into the slow cooker that Bestie gave me for my birthday. The only thing is… I put it on high instead of low. Why? Because I woke up at 4am and realized that stoopid me forgot to read the directions before bed. It’s a 7-8 hour cook time on low, so I’m guessing if HIGH is 2x the amount of heat then it should take 1/2 the time, right? Here’s hoping. Continue reading

Last Night’s Chicken Dinner.

Photo Feb 26, 6 44 26 PMMy friend is probably looking at that photo and wanting to smack me upside the head. Why? Because I did something that is apparently not done with Serrano ham. I put it in a meal. I’m not too knowledgable on Spanish foods, though I love Spain, and my friend Arkulari *IS* from Spain, so I’ll take her word for it. But good lord was that chicken really good.  Continue reading

Quick Post: The Shower

You know, I wish that the shower wasn’t my favorite place for thinking. When it’s 31F (-1C for my international friends) outside and the water turns ice cold, it’s really not fun. Especially when you haven’t finished your ablutions. And I hate cold showers.
